About Dummer Village Hall
When the Hall was established by gift from the Crondall family, it was constructed of wood and was intended to be “a reading room and place of recreation” for local people. The original Trustees, Sir Nelson Rycroft, the Rev. George Jones, and Alfred Gay were joined by a management committee. This committee continues to be elected annually. The original structure was demolished in the 1970s and a new Hall was opened in 1974.
A recent refurbishment plan, greatly supported by local people as well as a grant from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, has brought the 1970s structure up-to-date internally, with further improvements planned. The Hall is maintained and run by a team of volunteers made up of Trustees and Committee Members. Bookings from local residents and others for community or club events ensure the Hall is well used and together with the Church, the local pub and Cricket Club as well as other local businesses, it remains a focal point of village activities.

New Trustees and Committee Members are always welcome!
